Repair & Servicing Workshop Terms & Conditions

W A Stroud Ltd – Trading as Strouds and/or Equipment Services & Supplies Ltd. (“WASL/ESS”)

These Terms & Conditions set out how we carry out repair and servicing work for spray equipment and fluid transfer systems (2025).

1. Inspection Fee (Non-refundable)

An inspection fee from $50 + GST applies to assess your equipment. This covers technician time to disassemble, diagnose and quote for repairs. If you approve the quote and we proceed with the repair, we’ll deduct the inspection fee from your final invoice.

2. Repair Authorisation

By leaving your equipment with us, you authorise WASL/ESS to assess the fault, provide an estimated quote, and (if required) transport the equipment between our locations.

3. Estimates Only

All repair quotes are estimates, based on findings during inspection. If we discover additional issues or costs, we’ll contact you with an updated quote before proceeding further.

4. Priority Repairs (Optional)

Need it urgently? Same-day or 1-hour express repair options may be available on request, depending on the job complexity and parts availability. Extra charges apply – ask us for our current express rates.

5. Our Repair Guarantee

We stand by our work. Here’s what our 3-month return-to-base repair guarantee includes:

  1. Repairs are covered for 3 months from the original repair date – only if the equipment is used as intended.
  2. If the same issue reoccurs, we’ll carry out one follow-up repair at no extra cost.
  3. If we can’t resolve the fault after two repair attempts, we’ll return the equipment as-is and refund your original repair fee (excluding the inspection fee).
  4. If a guarantee claim is disputed, you agree to allow us time to inspect the item again. If needed, we may return the item to the manufacturer for assessment (this may take up to 4 weeks).
  5. This guarantee excludes:
    • Wear and tear or misuse.
    • Indirect or consequential loss.
    • Our liability is limited to the cost of the repair quoted.

6. Job Instructions

Please describe the issue as clearly as possible. Our assessment is based on the information you provide. We’re not responsible for undetected or unrelated faults outside of those described.

7. Equipment Not Collected

  1. Storage Fees
    You agree to collect your item within 7 days of:
      • Receiving a quote (and not proceeding),
      • Being invoiced after a repair is completed, or
      • Being notified that your equipment can’t be repaired.If not collected after this time, we’ll email a first collection notice. After that, a storage fee of $1/day will apply until the item is picked up.

    We reserve the right to retain your equipment until all outstanding fees (repair and/or storage) are paid in full.

  2. Disposal Process
    If your item is not collected within 30 days of the first notice, we’ll send a final reminder. If the item is still unclaimed 7 days after the final reminder, we may dispose of it.

  3. No Further Liability
    If we sell the unclaimed item, we’ll deduct unpaid fees and admin costs from the proceeds. Any balance will be refunded to you. If the sale doesn’t cover the costs, you’ll remain liable for the difference. We may use a debt collection agency and retain your credit records for up to 5 years.

8. Payment Terms

The inspection fee (from $50 + GST) is payable upfront. Repairs must be paid in full before your equipment is released (whether collected or shipped), unless we’ve arranged otherwise.

All freight, customs charges and duties are the customer’s responsibility – whether the item is repaired or not.
